Mackinac Island is quiet and beautiful. It is filled with gardens and flowers, unique homes, quite little B&B Inns, hotels and other interesting places. This is a painting inspired by photographs I made while visiting the Island in summer 2009, a quaint little cottage nestled at the end of a cobblestone walkway that meanders through lush gardens with gas lamps to light the way to the door. Carriage House is etched on the sign above the door.
I am a professional photographer and artist, have been shooting digital since 1999 and before that I used film. I do a lot of stock photography work, shoot travel images for tourism companies, shoot portraits and just retired from wedding photography. I think I've done it all at one time or another in my 25 years as a photographer. I also paint from my photographs. I love scenery, landscapes, flowers, barns and houses, to name just a few. I have photographed and painted literally hundreds of barns and buildings and am working a little each day to upload my work to this site. Since I work for the tourism industry, I have a lot of travel imagery and some of it has also been painted or sketched. Thanks for visiting my art...
