Automobiles are not allowed on Mackinac Island so one means of transportation to get from one side of the Island to another is horse drawn carriages. This painting of a surrey with the fringe on top is inspired by photographs that I made while visiting the Island in summer 2009.
About Anne Kitzman
I am a professional photographer and artist, have been shooting digital since 1999 and before that I used film. I do a lot of stock photography work, shoot travel images for tourism companies, shoot portraits and just retired from wedding photography. I think I've done it all at one time or another in my 25 years as a photographer. I also paint from my photographs. I love scenery, landscapes, flowers, barns and houses, to name just a few. I have photographed and painted literally hundreds of barns and buildings and am working a little each day to upload my work to this site.
